Deion Anderson joins the Casper Men’s Basketball Program after stops at Florida State and Campbell University

Education played a pivotal role in shaping Deion's coaching journey. A Tampa, FL native, Deion attended Florida State University. There, he earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Sports Management. During his time at Florida State, Deion demonstrated his commitment to the university's basketball program, serving as an undergraduate manager and graduate assistant for the men's basketball team for 3 years.

Under the mentorship of Hall of Fame Coach Leonard Hamilton, Deion's passion for coaching grew. As a Graduate Assistant for the men's basketball team, he played a key role in assisting coaches with creating scouts and opponent breakdowns. Additionally, he became proficient in software such as synergy, HUDL SportsCode, FastDraw, Fast Scout, and other basketball-related software. He was also always readily available to aid in player development. His contributions played a part in the team's success, as they claimed an ACC regular-season championship in 2019 and were ACC tournament Runner Ups in 2020. Deion was part of an exceptional era for the team, during which multiple players, including Scottie Barnes, Devin Vassell, and Patrick Williams, were Lottery selections in the NBA draft. Other players were drafted or signed, including Raiquan Gray, Balsa Koprivica, Trent Forrest, MJ Walker, and John Butler.

Following his successful tenure at Florida State, Deion expanded his expertise and joined Campbell University as the video coordinator for the women's basketball team. In this role, he continued to grow as a coach while also learning new skills. As video coordinator, he continued to create film edits for post-game and practice breakdowns. Deion showed his creativity and technical skills as he produced graphics and videos for recruiting purposes, enhancing the program's outreach to prospective players.

Deion's influence extended beyond technical tasks, as he also actively participated as a practice player and contributed to the overall efficiency of the program, ensuring everything ran smoothly. His efforts were instrumental in the development of Christabel Ezumah, whose stellar performance earned her recognition as a 1st team Big South selection.
