rankings, and made an appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time since
1996.

As a head coach, Gutting has a record of 56-27. He has had one Junior College All-American,
one Honorable Mention, four All-Region Players, and six All-Conference players. He has had
nine players sign Division I scholarships in his first three years as head coach. In 2020, Gutting
was selected to participate in the TopConnect Leaders inaugural class: NJCAA Symposium, for
young, up-and-coming college coaches.

Before coming to Casper, Gutting was an assistant coach at New Mexico Junior College. In
Gutting's five seasons at NMJC, the program posted a record of 106-54 with three regional and
one national tournament appearances. While at NMJC, he coached 10 All-Conference players,
and the program sent 30 players on to Division I universities in the Big 12 Conference, Atlantic
Coast Conference, Mountain West Conference, West Coast Conference, Conference USA, Pac-
12 Conference, Sun Belt Conference, Western Athletic Conference, and the Southland
Conference.

Before NMJC, Gutting coached basketball at Fort Collins High School in Fort Collins,
Colorado, from 2011-2013. He was also a head coach for the Rocky Mountain Fever Amateur
Athletic Union program from 2009-2012. Before his high school coaching career, he served as
the head student-manager at Colorado State University from 2008-2011 under Tim Miles,
current San Jose State University Head Coach. At Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins,
Gutting was All-Conference honorable mention in 2006. During his playing career, Gutting was a
two time varsity letterman at Rocky Mountain High School. He earned All-Conference his senior
year and helped lead his team to a 21-4 record.

Overall, Gutting has been to the NJCAA National Tournament twice and has coached four
NJCAA All-Americans: David Walker, South Alabama; Jeff Newberry, Oklahoma State; Malique
Trent, Hampton; and Isaac Bonton, Washington State. In his college coaching career, he has
helped over 35 players move to the Division I level after junior college. Gutting has two former
players currently playing on NBA rosters: Kenrich Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder and Chris
Boucher, Toronto Raptors.

Gutting graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor's in liberal arts in 2011 and
earned his master's in secondary education in sports administration from East Central University
in Oklahoma.

Gutting grew up in Fort Collins. His parents, Steve and Mary, currently reside there along with
his sister, Erin and her husband, Josh, with their child, Desmond. His brother, Casey, is now an
assistant coach at Marin Academy in San Francisco, and his father is an assistant coach at
Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins.
