Conner Schmidt enters his fourth season with the Thunderbirds in 2025.

Conner graduated from Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa, with a sports
management degree and a business minor in 2017. He spent three seasons with the Warriors
as a defender.

Before venturing to Iowa, Schmidt spent one season with Allan Hancock College in Santa
Maria, California, in 2012, where he studied recreation management. He also served stints at
the semiprofessional level as a member of the clubs Electric City Shock in Scranton,
Pennsylvania, from 2017-2018 and Alta Cal Sol in Santa Barbara, California, in 2021.

Before joining the Thunderbirds’ coaching ranks, Schmidt served as an assistant coach for
Allan Hancock College. Schmidt served as the assistant coach for the Lompoc High School
varsity girls’ soccer team in 2020 and the Cabrillo High School varsity and junior varsity boys’
soccer teams in 2018-2020.

The Thunderbirds are 35-15-8, while Schmidt has been assistant, including a Northwest
Plains District Championship and National Tournament run in 2023. Along with success on the
pitch, the Thunderbirds held the highest Team GPA in NJCAA Men’s soccer with a 3.65 in 2023.
